Rubber Garage Floor Mat

Question:
My son purchased a set of auto ramps for me for Christmas. I tried to drive my Tahoe onto them this morning for an oil change and they slip on the garage floor. I tried to get hold of the manufacturer, but no go. The place where they were purchased doesn't have a clue to this problem. Can anyone help?

Answer:
First off....make sure the ramps are sturdy enough to handle the weight of your truck. Safety first.

Now...the solution to your sliding problem is rubber mats. I have a couple of sections of thick rubber, about 12" x 18" that I use. I cut them out of a section of the rubber that concrete workers use to cover concrete with to give it a textured finish. Its about a 1/2 thick and if I put the front of the ramp on this rubber, it never slides an inch. You might could get the same result with an old car floor mat if its rubber backed.

Experiment with this a litte and I think you will solve your sliding problem.
