Garage Floor Repair

Question:
The concrete floor of the garage located under the living area of our new old house (30 yrs) has taken quite a beating over the years, most likely from road salt runoff, and is quite pitted where the car is parked. Any suggestions on reparing this? I'm considering something like Vinyl Concrete (sakrete/pak mix), amd hosing out any residual salt before I start, but levelling the mix withy a trowel seems daunting .
And after this is done, anyone with any experience with the epoxy concrete "paints" found at Lowe's?

Answer:
Real epoxies are 2 part and rather expensive. Their performance on concrete is outstanding, but make sure your repair is sound before you commit a lot of money to it.
The most durable and salt resistant concrete is the expensive kind, naturally, so your garage floor may have been long on gravel and short on concrete in the mix. If you don't want to redo it with a 5 1/2 bag mix or better, then resurface it and use a lower cost finish. Check to see if you could hire a finishing crew over a weekend for a few hours. Some of those guys use a bull float like Perlman does his Stradivarius, really awesome.
