Genie Garage Door Installation

Question:
I am installing the door bracket for a Genie Excelerator opener. The door has a strut going across the top interfering with the placement of the bracket. Is their away around this problem?
The instruction state the bracket must be mounted inline with the guide wheels. This can't be done. By the way, this is an Amarr door.

Answer:
Where does the garage door manufacturer think the door bracket should go?
Does your door have a reinforced area and markings on it which indicates where the garge door opener bracket should attach?

I replaced our Sears garage door opener with a Genie Excellerator a couple months ago. I don't remember anything in the instructions about the bracket lining up with rollers, only a recommended distance from the top of the door.
The existing mount was within range and right in the middle of the reinforced part of the door, so I just reused it (even though the pin diameters were different, old one was larger). It doesn't line up with any roller.

You could probably move the strut and leave the rollers in the position they are presently. The strut will still do its intended job, which is to reinforce the top panel.
I had to move the strut on my door to accommodate the GDO with no ill effects. It was just a matter of drilling some holes.
